Attention all applicants...
We are an established professional photography business located in Cambridge, ON. We are wanting to add 1-3 members to our team. At least one other photographer and an assistant/second shooter. The applicants must be willing to help out with administration tasks as well.
We are looking for someone that has an interest in photography, and who we can trust to represent the business if we are not with that person on the shoot. Someone who shares the same passion for it as we do.
Most of the work is in the KW area. However we do get out of town weddings from time to time, including Destination Weddings. Please let us know where you are living.
Applicants must...
have your own transportation(not the bus)
have a desire to be in the wedding photography industry(we do many weddings, but also a variety of other photography)
Not have their own photography business already, or looking to start one. Other jobs/careers are fine, but we are looking for people to work for our photography company only. This is a serious matter as the selected applicants will need to sign a non-compete contract.
You must be professional! We do not wear jeans when working with clients.
Experience with photography is preferred, but everyone will be trained. You will not shoot anything alone until you have experience.
You will need your own equipment
You must be reliable and able to commit to dates and times months in advance. Most weddings are on Saturdays, so you must be ok working on the weekends. Sometimes on the long weekends too. From time to time we get weekday weddings, and Sunday weddings....you would know in advance however if you are unavailable during the week we understand.
You must be willing to help out at trade shows(un-paid) Trade shows is where we get business so you can get paid work. This shows us that you are passionate about growing our business and becoming a part of it.
Must have some knowledge and skill with photoshop or lightroom, We will want to see some of your work. You must be able to do your own editing. If you know how to create wedding albums you can make more money doing this.
This is not a full-time job at this point, but it's a great second job, and will keep you fairly busy especially during summer and fall. It has potential to become full time in the future if you want it to be, no pressure.
We want to be able to have 2 weddings the same day(me doing one and my associate doing the other) This won't be happening right away as we need to build trust in that person and teach them about the business.
We would need some help advertising/promoting the business, but we don't want someone working for us and trying to start their own photography business. I am sure you can see the conflict there.
We can teach the candidate(s) a lot about wedding photography, composition, etc. We are always learning new things too.
What type of equpiment do you have? (body, lens, and flash)
We will go over in more detail with selected candidates in an interview what is to be expected and pay structure will depend on position and experience.
