Standing Meditation Workshop

Adapted to shorter attention spans and fast-paced lifestyles, standing meditation enables you to experience deep states of meditation without being in a seated posture.

 

The standing method prepares your body for seated meditation by improving flexibility and opening the meridians of the subtle nervous system.  Blockages in meridians are released, improving qi flow within the body and enhancing health and wellbeing.  Participants are encouraged to relax with the flow of movement and will receive a transmission of qi, or universal energy, to support their progress in meditation.

 

Only recently accessible to the public, this meditation is based on esoteric vajryana buddhism.  Come out and try this wisdom sword that awakens your natural mind, enhancing wisdom and insight! This method is open to individuals of all faiths and cultures.  This method is not suited to individuals with severe, acute illness.

 

Advance registration via email is required for limited class sizes - no drop ins please.  A donation of $25-35 is suggested.  This workshop is held on Sunday, June 24th from 1 to 4 pm.   It will be at Fusion Movement Yoga Centre ( http://www.fusionmovement.ca ) on 336 Eagle St. North, Cambridge. 

 

Vibeke Vaerum received her Talismanic Wheel of Diamond Dharma teaching certification from Master Shi Haikong in 2009 in China.  She has traveled to Sichuan province over a number of years to participate in meditation retreats and advanced training courses in Buddhism.  Previous training in Canada includes vipassana meditation under the guidance of Shinzen Young, and mantra meditation under the guidance of Sri Chinmoy.  She has an ongoing meditation practice and is passionate about teaching.
